who we are

balm wears is a vintage inspired, seasonless slow fashion label that (finally) came to life in twenty twenty one after being a dream for many years. we are a label that

creates beautiful, long living pieces that bring joy not only to those who wear them, but those who create them. we believe that every person involved in creating the things we wear transfers their energy into those pieces - you really can feel when something is made by someone who is happy and passionate about their craft, and we are so very proud to say we stand by that positive energy wholeheartedly.

based in bali, indonesia all pieces are made on this beautiful island from start to finish. designed, dyed, stitched, carved, etc. we do things slowly & thoughtfully, because we should all tread a little lighter and take time to appreciate the slow life.

transparency & ethics

balm wears prides itself on maintaining the highest level of standard with regards to ethical & thoughtful production. we strive to forever be learning and growing as a company and to always be doing our best to tread lightly with every step and to wholeheartedly take care of everyone involved in crafting our goods. every collection is produced in small batches, or made-to-order to avoid unnecessary waste and we repurpose our off-cut materials into small accessories to eliminate as much fabric waste as possible. because we use many different types of fabrics, they all have a different story and background - but where we can we use deadstock, recycled & organic materials.

all of our pieces are made by hand by small scale makers located in bali, indonesia. we work closely with solely family run businesses because we believe in supporting ‘the little guy’ and giving back to our community’s economy by providing work that pays above your standard fair wages. slowly made wearable goods came to be our mantra because good things take time and that has been the heart of every step so far in creation of balm wears. building strong relationships and making things thoughtfully and full of love takes time... everyone involved in making balm wears a reality has put their heart, soul and magical energy into every one of these special creations.

when launching balm wears we were trying to decide how we wanted to pay it forward to this beautiful country for hosting our dream and decided instead of taking a portion of every sale to donate to a local charity that we'd take that money and increase the pay to all of our local makers. however, we also wanted to give some love to mama nature - so with every balm wears purchase we will plant a tree here in indonesia through one tree planted.

ps. all balm wears merchandise is packaged in a reusable raw cotton dust-bag to eliminate the need for harmful plastics.

thanks for supporting this little dream and all of the wonderful humans who make balm wears come to life. aside from our incredible makers, balm wears is a one woman show and endless hard work and love goes into every single aspect of this label. so I thank you wholeheartedly for shopping small and supporting a conscious, woman owned business.
